WEEK 6: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND DINNER.

Hello! 
Dear fourth graders students this sixth week you are going to learn more about Peruvian superfoods. For example: Where are they from? When are they in season? What food group do they belong to? And how to elaborate on a menu healthy plan?

For these reasons, I invite you to watch this interesting video about our topic.

After doing all the activities from the "Learning at home" platform, please answer the questions according to your level belong to.

You can answer the questions in English or Spanish. 
You should use a bilingual dictionary online to check new vocabulary. (PRE-A1 / A1)

    A1: What difficulties did you have in creating your own brochure on three Peruvian superfoods?
    I had difficulties organizing my ideas since I had to be coherent and creative, describing it in detail.


    A1: Which superfood from Peru would you recommend? Why?
    I would recommend quinoa as it has been around for generations and is a great source of protein that contains all 9 essential amino acids. In addition to being a source of carbohydrates and fiber, it can help reduce cholesterol and glucose levels, contributing to weight reduction, as well as providing energy.

      I understand your difficulties at the moment when you always write a text. You need to write your first draft, use a dictionary and drawings too. I am sure you can do it very well.

    -The difficulties I had were that I did not know some foods in English

    A2: What would you recommend Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
    -Lisa should stop eating breakfast pizza or a hamburger. At lunch, you should have lunch before and eat more protein and at dinner eat more vegetables

    -Fernando should take time for breakfast, also at lunch he should stop eating fast food and at dinner stop eating sweets.

    Both must have a balanced diet, always varying in their food

    I had difficulties in ordering my ideas and being able to describe the chosen superfood.

    A1: Which superfood from Peru would you recommend? Why?

    I would recommend the potato as it is a very good source of carbohydrates and there are over 3,500 varieties in Peru.

    My difficulty in creating my food menu was organizing my ideas, but the glossary for the week was very helpful.

    A2: What would you recommend Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
    -Lisa for breakfast he should have fruit salad and strawberry juice, for lunch vegetables salad, fried fish and potatoes with chicha morada, and for dinner Chicken Soup. I would recommend that you eat more fruits and vegetables every day.

    -Fernando for breakfast he should have orange juice and bread with cheese, for lunch vegetables salad, rice chicken with lemonade, and for dinner pasta. He should start exercising every morning and drink water because it's better than drinking soda or eating chocolate, hamburgers, pizza, or other junk food.

    - I had some difficulties in recognizing what foods are healthy and how many proteins they had, but find out and create my menu with healthy foods

    A2: What would you recommend Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
    -Lisa should stop eating junk food at breakfast, at lunch she should eat foods that provide protein, calories and are healthy.

    Fernando for breakfast must eat healthy and nutritious foods that help him during the day, he must exercise and hydrate himself.

    Both must have a balanced diet accompanied by physical activity as this will help them have a better healthy life.

    -The difficulty I had was when choosing the dishes for the menu, but I solved it with the help of my parents when choosing the dishes.

    A2: What would you recommend that Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner?
    -I would recommend to lisa to eat breakfast, a fruit salad and a glass of milk, for lunch, fried chicken with a vegetable salad and a glass of lemonade, finally for dinner a glass of yogurt.

    -Fernando for breakfast, bread with egg and a glass of yogurt, for lunch, lomo saltado with a glass of chicha and a sweet, finally for dinner, a hard-boiled egg with a glass of milk.

    No teacher since it was easy for me to learn and know how to choose superfoods, and I was also able to help myself from the dictionary.

    I would recommend quinoa as it is a superfood because it contains many vitamins and proteins such as calcium, iron and magnesium.

    The difficulty I had was choosing the dishes that would go on the menu, but then I managed to solve the difficulty presented.

    A2: What would you recommend Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

    I would recommend to:
    Lisa : for breakfast a bread with avocado, a banana smoothie, and a fruit salad; for lunch chicken stew, cucumber salad, water from cocoa ; for dinner a tea or oatmeal and a sandwich.

    fernando: for breakfast bread with tuna, oatmeal, fruit salad; lunch steamed vegetable salad with slightly golden chicken with lemon, passion fruit soda; for dinner a papaya juice and a sandwich.

    Fernando: for breakfast a boiled egg, yogurt and fruit salad; lunch vegetable salad with steamed fish and tea, for dinner a light soup with, with a mango for dessert

    I had difficulty choosing which foods to include in my breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    A2: What would you recommend Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

    I would recommend Lisa to have oats or quinoa for breakfast with cheese bread or hard-boiled egg.
    For lunch I would recommend eat more vegetables, a chicken vegetable salad would be a good option.
    For dinner, you could have a fruit salad with yogurt.

    I would recommend Fernando to have a good breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day, it could be a fruit juice with avocado bread.
    For lunch you should eat pasta with meat and drink fruit water or chicha morada
    For dinner you should not eat sweets, a cream of broccoli is a healthy food.

    At first I did not know how to organize the brochure, I solved it by posing my ideas.

    I would recommend the Granadillas, because it is a great source of vitamins C, vitamin B3 and antioxidants, which benefits us in our health.

    -No tuve ninguna dificultad.
    A1: ¿Qué superalimento de Perú recomendarías? ¿Por qué?
    -Recomendaria la naranja ya que es una fruta muy rica y uno de los cítricos más interesantes , también tienen un alto contenido en vitamina C, ácido fólico y antioxidantes, algo que nos ayuda a combatir los radicales libres.

    I had the inconvenience that I did not know much about the effects that certain foods gave you, so I had to investigate more.

    A2: What would you recommend Fernando and Lisa eat for a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
    I would recommend that you have a breakfast that satisfies both of you. As a recommendation, I could tell you to take a juice from any fruit and accompany it with bread with ham and cheese.

    At lunch they add more vegetables to their meals.

    For dinner something not so big, better something light like soup and something that they have already eaten at lunch.

    I had a difficult time choosing foods since there is a lot of diversity and when I chose foods I had difficulty knowing some names

    My recommendations for Lisa
    Breakfast: For breakfast, you should generally have a cup of quaker and eat bread with ham.
    Lunch: For lunch, I would recommend that you vary your meals since something repetitive would be bad, so I would recommend some foods that should be in your meals, such as potatoes, rice, meat and vegetables.
    Dinner: For dinner, I would recommend eating something soft, as you suffer from stomach pains, so you should generally eat vegetables.

    My recommendations for Fernando
    Breakfast: For breakfast, I would recommend eating fruit salad sometimes, as it would serve to improve your fitness.
    Lunch: For lunch, I would recommend eating foods like cereals, meats, and pasta sometimes, as they will give you enough energy to carry out your activities.
    Dinner: For dinner, I would recommend that you always have a chamomile and eat bread so you can rest well.
